About Leah

While she considers New Orleans her true home, Leah Blake grew up in east Alabama, spending time at estate sales with her grandmother — who also occasionally let her raid her closet. This instilled in her a love of old things and fine clothing. After moving to New Orleans and working at a few boutiques and vintage stores, Leah started buying and selling her own vintage online, before moving into her first retail space and opening Century Girl Vintage in earnest in 2014.

Moving to Magazine Street in 2016, she was inspired to create a shopping experience reminiscent of boutiques or salons in Paris, and she sources her pieces from all over the world, while also collaborating with local female designers and artisans. She has one goal with Century Girl: to make people happy and reconnect with that childhood urge to play dress-up.

When she’s not styling customers or shopping auctions, Blake can be found chasing after her two children (Julian, 6 and Stella, 4). She’s also overjoyed to spend a lot of time with her husband Peter, who works with her in the business.
